Precise and Efficient IVD: ELISA Technology

ELISA is a multiwell plate-based immunoassay in which an antibody or sample, usually one of the components of the assay, is adsorbed onto a solid surface. To perform the assay, the detected substance (antigen or antibody) in the sample binds to the immobilized antibody or antigen. Throughout the process, the enzyme associated with the detected substance is obtained by washing the plate to remove the non-binding substance and then adding the enzyme-labeled antigen or antibody. Next, by adding substrate to react with the enzyme, color development occurs. Depending on the shade of the color, the amount of the substance in the sample can be determined, and qualitative or quantitative analysis can be performed.
